Our Ministries
Attention Men! The First Annual Nelson-Garrettsville Men's Retreat is set for Friday and Saturday, August 28th and 29th at Camp Asbury. Rev. Bruce Hitchcock is our guest for the weekend.
Dinner will be served Friday evening with breakfast and lunch on Saturday morning and departure from camp approximately 3PM on Saturday afternoon.
We will have talks, breakout sessions, and activities geared to men. More information to follow.

The Men’s Group has been traveling again!
Our group of wayfaring wanderers travelled to The Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio in April (See pictures below). Of course we had to stop for a little something to eat so our group of 16 men popped into The Mocha House first.
Then off to the museum we went where we were greeted by Packard enthusiast Charlie Duffield. Charlie’s excitement for his avocation rubbed off on our group of “boys” aged 12 to 90. Thank you Mr. Duffield for taking the time to meet with us.
Our next meeting will be at the Nelson United Methodist Church on June 27th at 9:00am.

Nursery Care Volunteer
We are looking to make a schedule to have the Nursery covered when needed during Sunday Worship. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please call the church office @ 330 527 2055. When we serve each other, we become very real partners in what Christ is doing. This equips us as a family, as a team, to serve in our world. Here are some ministries that currently need helpers:
- In the Nursery
- As a Youth Group adult visitor
- Be a Greeter

Grief Support Group
The group will meet each month at the Garrettsville UMC for approximately 1 1/2 hours and is open to any who have experienced loss.
Monthly Meetings:
April 12 @ 2pm
May - December: meets the 1st Saturday of each month @ 2pm

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit humanitarian agency of The United Methodist Church. Since 1940 UMCOR's mission — providing relief in disaster areas, aiding refugees and confronting the challenge of world hunger and poverty — has helped to heal the hurts of humanity in nearly 100 countries.
Each year the Nelson United Methodist Church participates in an UMCOR project by preparing relief kits to be used where they are needed most.
